Billiards Is The Favored Indoor Game For Elite Group

There are some games that are considered to be the sports for the elite groups in the society and the game of billiards is certainly one of them. Originally an outdoor game like the golf and croquet, it was taken indoors as a table version of Croquet, probably some times during the reigns of King Louis XIV. But it cannot be said with conviction that the game did not exist earlier or the Pool tables were an invention of the time.
Concept of billiard tables came up with the consideration that the table would be raised to some height for convenience in playing the game and the top was kept green to remind you of the grass bed on which Croquet was played. Gradually the hoops that were replicates of the game of Croquet were abandoned and wooden components came up to be used as pool cues. This marked the origin of the pool games and so also that of the pool table.
Various types of pool tables are available that depends upon the game which is played on it. You may be playing Billiards or Snooker on it. Some times rapid games are also played on it. However the type largely depends on the location of the table like the home, saloons, pool halls etc and the expenses that are incurred for it. You may not forget that even old accessories have value and it is evident from the number of used pool tables for sale available in the market.
